Dell laptop keyboard malfunction

The keys 2 and 3 with shift type the symbols " and £ respectively while sometimes they type @ and #. The logic for what it will type when is yet to be discovered.
The full stop and comma need the accompaniment of spacebar to be pressed to show their appearance. Like if I type , or a . they will not show up unless you type a space following them.

NOTE: If you need to type in a password to even get into Windows to do the following, make sure you attached an external keyboard first, to get past the password. Then disconnect the external keyboard and try the following...

1. Uninstall the keyboard driver.
2. Reboot the computer (without reinstalling the driver).
3. When it restarts, it should reinstall the driver on its own.

If this doesn't work, you may wish to try connecting/reconnecting an external keyboard and see if it works fine. If it does, then it could be the keys themselves that are the issue.

You may also want to try updating the Synaptics Driver if the above doesn't help.

How do I get my Win10 product key? I don't know why it is needed. I'd ordered a Dell laptop last year (2017) via PayTM and it was preinstalled in it. I recently allowed a software update that took hours to complete with rebooting the system several times. Since then the screen has gone blank - black first, then blue and white now (Probably it will be green next). Once however it showed abnormal desktop with a lot of icons missing and the folders that were visible could not be opened saying "The directory you referenced to is missing" kind of message. And now it doesn't even open, says "hard error".
Sad life:| Plz help
PS: I have no idea if this is relevant - the OS was 64 bit and I had used my laptop mainly for storing songs, and some C, java and Python programs. No experimental stuff.

The update, are you sure it was an actual Windows update, or was it through something/somewhere else?
