Dell latitude x 300 dead or alive

dell latitude x300 compeatly dead battery ok if put the power lead in only the battery light comes on .removed all hardware one by one no differentce removed the motherboard powered wtth adaptor still no power button lightonly the cpu connected now could it be that which is faulty. any help aprecieated

It could be a bad power jack or perhaps a bad battery. You can find power jacks all over the internet. Have you tried a different battery?

dont have different battery to try but battery is fully charged. tested all conections from power jack to board seem to be ok 19 .4 volts im begining to think the board is faulty dont know if cpu could cause this fault.
