Dell Vostro 2520

My dell vostro shows blank/black screen upon startup. It does not even show the dell logo screen. Before going blank completely the screen flickered few times. I tried connecting it to an external display and I can see everything working fine. I even checked if I had problems with my RAM but it looks working fine. Is there any solution for this problem?

Anything from checking the screen connections to replacing the inverter to replacing the screen would fix it. Need to start with the connections and go from there.

If you can see a faint image (if you shine a light on it you can see it better) then you need a new backlight.
