Dell XPS 1330 powers on and immediately dies, need help

my dell 1330 can't power on properly. every time i turn it on, it would be on for a few seconds then it would immediately die. after googling several threads which had similar problems it turns out that this might be a capacitor on my MOBO. however, with my bare eyes, i can't tell that any of them are messed up or which one is. some people said that their c10 capacitor is messed up but i honestly don't know how to test it nor take it out. even worse, there is no indicator of what type of capacitor they are either.

here are a couple of pics of the capacitors in my mobo near the power board., can anyone tell me:
1) does anything look wrong with any of them
2) what types of capacitors they are, and what is the right replacement for them, cause it's not labeled on the caps themselves and i have no idea.
3) what the best way to do about diagnosing and fix this problem so i can fix my mobo and hence my computer? i don't have any fancy expensive tools like a thermal gun...

Visually, from the pictures, they don't look bad. However, these types of caps (Solid State Capacitor) if they go bad, will expand out the bottom - which makes it hard to spot a bad one - even to a trained eye.

The Cap on the corner is 100 micro farad (uF), rated at 25 volts. You'd want to match the farads, and a replacement would need to be rated at least 25 volts (but could be replaced with one rated higher voltage - as long as the farads matched.)

Simple testing can be done with a decent multimeter, a more expensive one would be needed to do a more complete test. Just google how to test a capacitor. Replacing one is not an easy task without the right tools & practice.

I looked up some Motherboards for your model, and there are working ones on eBay between $55-$130. The better the warranty the better. Others also offer board repair service, which you may want to look into.

you forgot to add in the shipping. these mobo averages around $75. which would be ok normally for new laptop, but this laptop is old and sells for like $100, so buying a motherboard would be more than half it's costs, which is not worth it. i wanna see if i can try to fix it. btw how about that other electrolytic cap, what's the capacitance on that? also, some one told me that the c10 cap could be a problem, but it's a ceramic cap and like the other ceramic caps on the board, it does not provide any info on it's volts and capacitance. regarding the testing, could you link me to a good guide on how to test it with a mulitmeter? because i's already googled them and i've done the tests with a multimeter. the results in that a lot of my capacitors are bad, but i'm not sure if the guide is wrong or i'm doing something wrong. so i need a link to what you would consider a "good" guide and compare it with the guides i've used. did i need to plug in mobo power adapter in when i test the caps? cause i didn't do that.

Here's a link with the same issues your having and their solution. Apparently, simply removing the C10 (C10 should be a 10uF 25V 1206 X5R) cap solved their issue.

[And] Another mentioned a Dell M1330 (I think this is the same as yours) that the offending cap is on a separate PowerBoard, not the MoBo, and that's a $5 part on ebay +free shipping! Part #48.4C302.031. Try to do it, if it doesn't work, possible $5 fix. Pages 2 & 3 have some similar useful information as well, even with the broken link to possible schematics
