Dell xps m1730 sata connector broken

Hi,
the little black plastic on the sata connector from de motherboard is broken and i can't plug my sata hard drive and i would like to know if i can do something to fix it.

Did you break the little hold down clip ???

If so you have two choices.... new motherboard.....OR ...carefully tape it down....

basically, i bought it on ebay (hdd problem) and i see that, then i try to fix it.


Even if the cable stay there, i get an error ( no sata/pata cable detected.) i don't know if i tape it down, the hdd will works.

If you tape it.....you must make sure it has enough PRESSURE to make good contacts....

Do you have two hard drives in the cage? The service manual indicates the first disk is connected to the other connector. Primary hard disk must be installed in the drawer labeled 0.
