Desktop on smartphone via HDMI

Hi, recently my dad took away my pc monitor as a punishment for something that I don't know if I did it. So I wanted to use my smartphone "Xperia Z" as monitor , I looked up on Google and saw an app called iDisplay which was the USB cable needed to transfer the screen but it seemed a little laggy. Then I thought if there was a way to transfer screen into my phone via HDMI ,which is MHL for my phone. Is there a way to do it?
