"Device Failed to Connect" sound constantly Windows 7.

Hi,
My Dell Studio 1735 is constantly making the "Device Failed to Connect" sound. I have looked in Device Manager and it keeps on refreshing itself every 5 seconds so I have no time to click on the little arrows to see what may need installing. I have tried installing the newest drivers for everything but the problem is still there.

If anyone has any idea what I mean please reply.

Nope, that was my first thing to look at and nothing is showing as needing to be updated/installed.
 


Is there anything stuck in the audio/USB ports like a paperclip or a staple, it's highly unusual for windows to keep doing that and there be no device driver error.

Other thing to try would be uninstalling USB controllers in device manager 1 by one to pinpoint what the problem is
 


Just had a check and there is nothing stuck anywhere. I'm gonna do what you suggested and uninstall the USB Controllers to see if I can find the one causing the trouble.
