did virgin use my roof aerial to run a cable to my modem

Did virgin run the co-axial cable to my modem using my roof aerial fitting by splitting the signal, because that's what it looks like to me?

Given that info, how is anyone supposed to determine what you have, besides you and the guy that installed it?

well my old tv aerial cable runs into my loft, I have been trying to get freeview tv but cant get a signal so I thought I would plug the old tv coax cable staight into the freeview box. When I got up into the loft I found that my coax aerial cable ran to a splitter and the modem coax cable ran from the splitter which I reckon will reduce any signal that I could use for freeview tv. As you see I do not know anything about this stuff but I keep on trying to find out how things work. Thanks to anybody who takes time to answer.
