digital converter box to soundbar connection

I have a Samsung TV with no audio out capability, an OTA antenna and a Vizio soundbar (rca, toslink, no hdmi). I'm trying to find some way of getting sound out of the tv to the soundbar. I got a Homeworx digital converter box that has rca, hdmi and rf in and out.

I thought I hooked it up correctly...antenna to rf in...rf cable out to tv...rca to soundbar. I also tried connecting hdmi from box to tv. I have a picture and sound but cannot get the sound to the soundbar.

Any ideas on a way to get the sound to the soundbar? Do I need an analog to digial audo adapter? Or would my best bet just be to try an hdmi switch?
