Dimmed area in fujitstublaptop screen

My Fujitsu life book u series 772 has developed a dim area at the bottom. It shows only in certain positions when the laptop cover is in some positions.

Any idea of what is wrong/ what can be done please?

First step would be to re-seat the connection to the motherboard. It may be a backlight or LCD panel issue, once you open the laptop you can move things around a bit and see if anything helps. May need to replace the screen.
