[citation][nom]burfordg[/nom]Yes, but piracy is still a lot lower on consoles than it is on PCs, because you don't void your warranty when you pirate for PCs, and it's a lot harder to get caught. I think one of the big reasons people are complaining is simply due to the fact that by eliminating dedicated servers, it ruins chances for pirates to play the game illegally.I saw that on Kotaku earlier today, and I gotta ask: what is that about hosts having 0 ping in MW2? I do believe that an article posted here on Tom's specifically stated that the game would provide roughly the same ping for everyone.[/citation]
0 ping for the host of the match obviously, while others may struggle with 100+ ping which is more than likely. I know many of my friends who are plagued by lag on the Xbox 360. Everyone having equal ping will not happen. I think you're confused, and if not, show me the article.
And I wouldn't make light of the piracy rate on the 360, it's a vast and growing sector. And complaining about no dedicated servers is not about the ability to pirate it and play on cracked servers. It's about an equal playing field for clan matches, where all users will have decent ping. And obviously with dedicated servers comes the ability for more players, the reason for 9v9 is because with more, it would be horrendous.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, I may be. But the host of the match decides to kick/ban players, correct? What if you get hosts that are 12 year old kids who kick you for hacking when you aren't, or the host is hacking themselves. Dedicated servers have admins to kick/ban any cheaters, it's a better system.
