Let me preface my question by saying that while this forum deals with issues
related to hd technology, I'm hoping I can get a technical answer here to a
question about a website that deals with it's hd programming.

The Discovery Channel has a website devoted soley to it's HD programming.
at http://dhd.discovery.com/

My question is this.......

How can I avoid the flash animation ad that takes several loooooong minutes
to completely load, then, and only then, does it allow me to access the
Disc HD website's content?

Regardless of which link within the Disc HD site I place in "favorites" the
same stupid, forever to fully load flash file appears.

Thanks for any help or direction you can offer.

There is a small word (skip) on the screen - just click it.

When I click on the word "skip", all that happens is the flash file replays.

Did you open the link I posted in my original post? If so, did you click on
"skip" and did it took you to the Disc. Hd website without delay?

Yes I used the link you posted and did click on skip and it stopped what it
was doing and took me to Discovery Hd theatre.

Strangly, since you asked, I once again clicked on the URL you posted and
the intro didn't come up at all - took me directly to the HD Theatre. Maybe
there is a cookie somewhere saying I've already seen it. Don't know for
sure, but do know it stopped what it was doing when I clicked.

Hope this helps.

Jim (Sure it probably doesn't help)

As soon as I read the word "cookie" in your post, I realized the fact that
I have all "cookies" disabled in my security seetings.

I changed that setting to allow cookies, and guess what?

I clicked on "skip" and I'll be damned if it didn't take me directly to the
Disc HD site without delay!

Thanks, Jim.......you're my hero!
