Divx support on HDTV

Hey everyone

..I have lg lh60(jazz theatre) 1080p Tv.

.it boasts that it can play full 1080p divx movies form USB..

now i have several 720p movies that are in the matroska file format..so i have tried converting them into all kinds of divx file formats available on the system..I have tried DIVx,Xvid,divx 50,40,Divx avi,H264,Divx Hd and kinds of formats.

But every time i play it on my tv it shows invalid file format and wont play the film..

I dont know whats the problem..generally i use DIVX TO GO software that comes with the divx package to transfer my divx movies to the usb and they generally are supported on my tv..BUt for mkv to divx it never does..

Check if the TV has firmware updates, possibly try to contact their support to get the exact format that the TV will play.

Without knowing what settings your TV supports you're just playing at guessing things.

Yeah i have been guessing a lot..the LG site tells that it supports DIvx HD1080..NOw what the hell does that mean??I mean there are no specifications..

You probably need to either go though the manual, or call them. The product specs won't tell you exactly what you need to encode at for it to work, those are just for advertising. Could be anything from audio type to bits per second setting to resolution.
