Do XLR to 3.5 Jack will work just fine ?

Hello.

I’m planning to buy a mic, I choose this one Rode Procaster but I don’t want to buy external soundcard due to my budget and also that I already invested in an internal sound card the creative sound blaster z

So I got the "Genius" idea to use a XLR to 3.5 Jack cable.

So the question is. Do this cable will work if yes then if it will perform same as the normal xlr to big jack?
