Does HDMI 1.x (19 pin) work with HDMI 2.0 (29 pin)?

I'm getting a GTX 1070 and am working on getting a DVI-D to HDMI adapter, however the adapter is a 19 pin HDMI. Will the adapter still plug and work just fine on my new GTX 1070?

I've never heard of HDMI 2.0 having more pins. HDMI 2.0 uses the same cables/connectors as 1.x. So yeah, I don't see any reason why your adapter wouldn't work.

I just read that HDMI 2.0b has 29 pins
