Solved! dont know how to change resolution settings

i need help setting a different resolution to see if that will fix the message that reads, unsupported signal, check device output on my sony bravia screen. this is a new problem. hdmi cord is brand new.

The video resolution of your mystery source would have to be changed in its menu. That's why the TV says check device output.
