Hello!

I want to run a 1920X1080 display laptop.

Which will be a better choice for the long run, a Single Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M (8GB) or Dual 970M's (12GB total)?

If it is going into a laptop, you have to consider a few aspects. If you go for an SLI setup. It is going to run hotter and use more power, also may cause more issues down the line. If you go for a stronger single GPU, you will get more consistent (maybe somewhat lower at times) FPS and will run cooler and last longer on battery. Personally I would probably go for a single 980m.

Hmmm, in this case I tend to agree with NeurOnauT. SLI is great in many scenarios, but in a notebook it will cause more power consumption and heat, and you need to remember that in a few games SLI just doesn't work. For a normal PC I'd go 970s SLI (I'm planning on buying a second 970 for myself) because of the price/performance, but for a notebook I'd go the other way. BTW, how about the prices? And the other components are the same in both notebooks?
