emachine 528 CPU upgrade help

Hi Community,

My emachine d528 laptop is slow and wished to upgrade it to dual core.
The bios is v1.07 and the chipset is GM45/47.

I bought t9600. WIll this work? If this does not work, what is the next fastest?

A T9600 will work fine. The GM45 chipset supports it fully and since both the old and new processors are rated for 35W TDPs, you won't have too many heat problems either. You did good
