I have netbook eMachines E250 produced by Acer. There is problem with touchpad.
It was not working during Windows installation (couldn't move mouse, and couldn't click).
I've installed the XP Home SP3 then downloaded Synaptics drivers for E250 eMachines.
The touchpad is seen in the Synaptics utility as PS2 device.

After reboot I could use touchpad for 3-4 seconds then it freezes.
When I click (with external USB mouse) Disable then Enable touchpad in utility, I can use touchpad for 3-4 seconds then it freezes.
Whats with that touchpad? Its hardware or software problem?

Same problem someone got here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1599026
But its not solved

From the sound of the symptoms it's driver issue though Synaptics is a very common brand and usually works with Win's own drivers.

To be honest, I'd just install a mouse, infinitely preferable to use than touchpad or any laptop pointing device.
