Emachines E525 Windows Version?

Hi folks,

I have an Emachines E525, purchased new. I made a recovery disk package (3 disks) a while ago, but turns out I am missing one of the disks. I tried to just install 7 from another source and use the serial # on the bottom of the laptop but it doesn't want to work. What version of Windows 7 was used on the Emachines E525? Since I own a license, I should be allowed to install it from someone else's disk and use my license, correct?

The stick lists: Windows 7 Home Prem OA Acer Group.

Any info is appreciated.

Just make sure that the windows disk is a home prem disk. and if it is . you need to call microsoft

You need the recovery disk for the computer. The recovery disk will install the operating system, drivers and utilities for your computer. It will essentially put it back to the way it was from the factory, so you'll be good to go!

Do you use those recovery disks that you made anyway. They hardly ever work, and if you do get it to go through, it will probably fail at some point during the restore and will lock you out. Then you wont have a functioning laptop at all.

Always make sure that each computer you buy has the discs with it, or order them from the manufacturer right away after purchase. This way you can reinstall as necessary.

The emachines e525 recovery disk set comes in a couple different versions. You need to select windows 7 from the drop down menu when you place your order. They will send you the one that goes to your machine.
