Recently, I have bought a laptop ASUS A555L. I found that the driver software of canon E510 printer cannot be installed due to [Error Occurred : files were being copied 0001 0002] .
I have tried to reset the laptop to the factory setting [reformat] and reinstall the driver software and the problem still the same.

The driver software that I have tried to install is the latest version from official website and I tried CD version oso.

Anyone please help me out this problem. I need to print my documents urgently.

I am using Windows 8.1 64bits.

Solution
Hello thoonkaiyin

The problem might be that the driver is looking for the USBSCAN.SYS file at the wrong location which is a common issue.

Assuming you are using the 64-bit version of Windows 8.1:

Step 01 - Go to C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\sti.inf_amd64_neutral_9d9a7113099a28a2 (this last number may differ in your device).

Step 02 - Copy the usbscan.sys file.

Step 03 - Go to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder and paste the copied file.

Step 04 - Go to the C:\Windows\Inf folder and paste the copied file here as well.

Once done, try installing the driver.

If the problem persists:

Step 01 - Right-click the Start button (the button with the Windows logo) from the bottom-left corner.

Step 02 - Click Command Prompt (Admin) from the context menu.

Step 03 - Click Yes in the User Account Control confirmation box (if it appears).

Step 04 - In the command window, type the SFC /SCANNOW command and press Enter.

Once the process completes, try installing the driver.

Hope this helps. :)

I have tried both methods ~ The problem still exists ~~~~
What should I do Next ???

Hello again thoonkiyin

If none of the methods work, you may want to refresh your Windows 8.1.

The step-by-step instructions to do this are given here.

After refreshing your computer, you should be able to install the driver.

Let me know if this helps. :)
