Exp gdc beast issues

My exp gdc beast (ngff) turns on on its own, and only when the ngff cable is plugged in, it gets SUPER HOT. Do I have a defective unit? Psu is on, the other side is off, and there is a 600 watt psu running a gtx 570

but even when its unplugged from hdmi, but psu is in, as soon as power cord is plugged in, psu turns on, as does gpu, and if a light is supposed to come from dock, it doesn't. nobody else on internet has had this problem, I checked

Another thing I see is that there is no light coming from the Beast like in he tutorials I watch.

Just like the title suggests, no matter what power supply,gpu, or device its connected to, It doesn't work and turns on on its own. Any help??
