i'm planning fr dell xps- 15" max. resolutn. 1366*768

I3 2330m (sandy bridge)
nvidia 525m 1GB
4Gb ddr3

will i b able to play battlefield 3 with medium details.

The 525m will be your major bottleneck in BF3, heres how it performs in BFBC2:

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (2010)
low: 47 fps
med.: 38 fps
high: 27 fps
ultra: 14 fps

I believe these frames are when played at 1080p, as you plan to play at 720p, you shouldn't have many problems playing BF3 on medium to low settings, just don't expect anything amazing.

Those would be benchmarks from lesser resolutions that 1920x1080.

In this example a i3-2310M & GT 525M on a 1366x768 LCD has a 40 avg FPS

Maybe;
The GT 525M looks to be right on the edge of 'playable' on BF:BC2.
It will run on medium details but it might not be smooth and fluid during online game play on those medium settings.
