External Microphone does not work? ASUS Laptop P55VA-XH51

I am using a Razer Kraken pro neon headset. That has one jack for both microphone and speaker (Headset). And my Asus has two jacks, One for the microphone, one for the headset. I have seen people set their headsets up with sound and recording. But "External Microphone" is not an option. My jack is plugged into the headset one currently.
Also, if my headset jack is plugged only into the mic, the mic still does not work nor display in sound and recording devices.
