Fan control on a laptop?

Hey guys.

My friends laptop is overheating. He wants to find a program that will allow him to manually adjust the fan speed. He says speedfan is not picking up any fans though, so any other suggestions?

P.S it is a samsung laptop.

speed fan etc doesnt work on laptops he will either 1 have to buy a laptop cooler and change the thermal paste on the cpu and gpu die if it has a gpu
