Fast laptop, low price

Hello everyone, soon it will be my sisters birthday and she is looking at getting a new laptop. She is after something that will be very fast, able to play the sims 3/4 and could last her for a good few years.

I need something in the price range of between £200 - £300 from a trusted seller like pc world, ebuyer and amazon at a stretch.

Yes i am UK. That laptop you recommended seems very expensive for what it is. 1.9GHz, wouldn't that be very slow?

Yeah it's low but it's haswell so the IPC count is still very good.

Plus, if you upgrade to windows 10 it will be super quick.

Your not going to find much for that price point, the only laptops I consider even fast would be ones with SSDs in them.

For £350 you can get the following Toshiba laptop with a Core i5-4210u.

Before upgrading to Windows 10 make sure the Sims 3/4 is compatible with it.

For the price you listed you won't get a fast laptop for SIMS 4, that budget is for a pretty low end system. You can look for a used laptop in that price range, but new, you will have issues playing SIMS 4 smoothly on past low settings. SIMS is not very demanding like some games, but still wants a decent CPU and video card to run without stutter. For about 500 you can get a system to play it on lower settings smooth, for 700 you can play at higher settings. Not sure how 3 would run, but that also wants a faster system to run smooth.

I see, what about the sims 3 as my sister prefers that more. She wont mind about the quality settings as long as we get a smooth FPS

The first one with the A8 chip, much faster than the Celeron especially in gaming speeds.
