I've recently took apart a old Fm radio to fix a sound problem and found out that the wires connected to the speaker came loose so I just had to re solder the wires back together it works but, it can't go louder than it used to.

Problem: when I try to turn the volume up higher it just turns off I don't know if its over heating or my solder work isn't that good if you guys can help me out that would be great!

Solution
Just fixing the connections would not make the speaker play louder than it did when it was working correctly.
When soldering the wires back into the speaker you may have applied too much heat and damaged the voice coil of the speaker. That could cause the amp in the radio to shut down.
