FPS drop in all of my games

I have a Lenovo p500 idea pad (yes, it is not for gaming) and recently the fps for all of my games dropped namely terraria, CSGO, Battlerite. I got a new mouse maybe the g102 prodigy but I don't think it affects the drops and downloaded the software stuff for it. I've seen through a lot of forums trying to solve this but none does the trick

i5-3230M
6GB RAM DDR3 SDRAM
Intel graphics 4000

If you have a later version of windows 10, you can try putting the game into "game mode" with the Win+G keyboard combo, it sometimes helps pick up a few frames and stops background processes from hogging the CPU.

You could also try to upgrade the drivers on that iGPU (HD 4000) and see if that helps.

Could also be heat/dust keeping the clocks lower. Could open the case up and get dust out.
