Gaming laptop with QX9650

I'm not sure... if you want, I can PM the email of Killer Notebooks, who I'm sure would be happy to put one in for you if it's possible. They don't list it as an option on their site though.

Sager/XoticPC offers the 9262 with a X6800 quad core, but not the QX9650.

Seems to me that heat would be a major problem for that, so maybe that's why so few manufacturers offer it.

The two notebooks that I found offer with a qx6850 which is on 65nm. I was thinking that the qx9650 is 45 nm so it would dissipate less hit. I will check the killer notebooks site and try to contact them on email.

on techreport.com they compare several core 2 procc. the qx9650 gives the lower consumption.

other websites report 20 w below qx8650 and 30 w below the dual x6800.

Well sager NP9262 which currently is the best laptop in the world has this specs:
Q6700
2 8800GTX
4GB RAM

u can ask sager to see wether it supports QX6950 too or no

Well, one can argue about "best" but it's the most powerful. 😀

But yeah, this would be something you'd have to call up companies to do, consider it a 'special order'. Good luck, and tell us how you do.

yeah i meant the most powerful not the best, because by best u can mean the looks of it too :d

I could even assemble by my self, only that I do not know any store that would sell laptop compenents.

I send emails on monday to clevo, killer notebooks and hipepc. Still waiting for answers. Sabre notebook would be ok if it would support the QX9650, though I do no need fancy video card or 2 extra hdd. One option of for the proc is the QX6850. the QX96500 can not be worse than the that from the point of view of heat.

From my search on the internet I draw the conlcusion that E6750, Q6600, QX6850 and QX9650 can be put on the same mother board in a desktop pc. If this is right it should go also for this laptop motherboard. Could somenone confirm or infirm this?

If the socket's the same, it should work, assuming the laptop can deal with the heat.

Hopefully you hear back from companies soon.

By digging more I found that there are 2 posibilities for the chipset
Intel 945G & ICH7 and Intel 965GM & ICH8R-Enhanced.
Does anyone know what are the processsor that I can use on each of those chipsets?
