Solved! Gateway nv55c03u will not boot or post to bios

Can anyone help with this issue where the laptop just loops while trying to boot evenn if I select F2 on startup it just clicks and shuts off then starts again in a continous loop...

1. Was it working fine before?
2. Did anything change after which it won't boot - I mean any new program/hardware installed?

I tried removing the HDD and attaching it to my PC which has a hotswap bay and found that the drive is dead so I used another drive an rebooted th PC and it now works fine. So it was a DEAD drive.

That is really unfortunate that your HDD is gone now. Such things do happen!!!

yep but luckly I've got a few 2.5 drives lying around
