Glitch in the video

In this video there's a small glitch when the concrete breaks at 1:38. What is the name of this effect, and why does it happen? How to prevent it?

That looks like the glitch was caused by the event being taped (the camera was affected by the movement of the concrete breaking under compression pressure). Other than placing the camera in a different room, away from the physical event, you likely can't completely stop something like this from happening.

If you mean the flash in the lower half of the screen about three seconds later than the time you said, that's called a flash, and the ONLY way to prevent that is to put a piece of tape over each and every camera that comes into that area. If you make the entire place much brighter though (half dozen 1kW lamps lighting the whole room), it might stop most cameras from using their flash.

Why is the camera being affected in the first place? I can understand if there is a shake in the video because of the vibrations.. but why does the image has to get distorted?

If it is just the light coming from the flash, how come it has sharp borders on the top and bottom?

100% flash there, the cut off is due to your camera's rolling shutter. Nothing is wrong with your camera or video, you just need to make sure nobody uses flash.
