Google Chrome Still Not Working

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium. On the morning of February 3rd, I came out to find my computer had rebooted in the wee hours of the morning. Of course it automatically shut down all 3 of my Chrome links kept in my task bar. (My sons and I each have our own personal Chrome browser links to save our personal info, etc.) Upon clicking on any Chrome link, including the actual executable file, absolutely nothing happens. Anyone have any ideas? Also: If we DO wind up having to uninstall/reinstall, will we lose all the information attached to our individual files? Information we've collected over the past 3 years?
Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest backing up all the favorites of your laptop first.

Once done you can proceed with uninstalling/reinstalling Google Chrome itself.

Thank you so much Laptop_Nerd, it sounds like a great place to start, but my main problem is that I can't open my Chrome browser at all. When I click on any of the short cuts or the actual executable file, absolutely nothing happens. - Windber
