Apple's success with Mac OS and iOS proves that different devices need separate operating systems.

It proves nothing. Iphone is from 2007 and back then hardware was not good enough to run a desktop-like OS but it is about there now.

And I think that having two OSs is a waste of assets.

[citation][nom][/nom]"That's why everyone has two different solutions for these problems. Apple has Mac OS and iOS, Microsoft has two – they just happen to call them both Windows – and at Google we do the same."[/citation]

It's apparent from the latest iterations of Mac OS and the upcoming Windows 8 that both companies are looking to transition to one OS.

Also why would Google keep developing Chrome OS. It's not like anyone actually uses it. Android is the cash cow. Instead work on Android to work smoothly whether it be in a laptop, desktop, tablet or phone.

Yes, Google needs to converge these so that instead of having two complete and utter failures of OS', they only have one!

Android is becoming really irrelevant now, especially with Windows 8 phones and tablets on the way.

If you're using Chrome on a PC or Mac (like the majority of world wide web users), you're using Chrome OS and you don't even realize it yet.

God he sounds like a Bioware dev trying to explain away why TOR is just like WoW. Just because Apple does it doesn't mean its what people want right now. We want a seamless experience from our phone to laptop to desktop. However you make this happen, the answer is not iTunes.

Android apps running on a specific JVM, Chrome Apps are running from browser and are Javascript or HTML5 apps.

A pure netbook that always requires internet may be the future, but not yet ready. Android helps solves the issue.

How to attract developers in the key.
