I've been waiting for enough excuses to buy a PS3.
One of them was Blu-Ray, but now I've got it on my PC, running fine on Windows 7, thank you. The whole BD-drive cost me $50, if that much.
The other was this game.
And yes, it lacks such a game for PC. It would be for driving games what Flight Simulator is for flying games (an Icon, not the ultimate game). It just is, it lets you drive a car, around the world. No closed circuits, unless they are famous.
But make it bigger. WAY BIGGER.
Take the whole Need for Speed Underground franchise and multiply it a few thousand times over. Make it MMO, make it on real streets. Make it 100TB worth digitizing 2 billion miles of highways and city grids around the planet, making the game impossible to pirate. Make it possible cruising Route 66, just for the sakes of it, for real, taking 420 hours to do it, without leaving my chair. Make it possible to cruise the real Paris-Dakkar rally circuit on a Ford Pinto, if you are feeling like it. Make it possible to take off from my neighborhood, and drive until I can reach your neighborhood. Make it monthly subscription, releasing interesting places and sights in episode packs, like Mulholland Drive for instance, (or so I heard).
So, it has Le Mans and Spa? It should, at least.
I feel a bit saddened, somehow.
