[citation][nom]2ms[/nom]Is this some kind of April fool's joke in June? $100 for a ricer racer game that comes with a little model of an ugly-ass stickered-up ricer car, a "certificate of authenticity", and "premium packaging"?It sounds almost like a parody of the Fast & Furious "movement". I'm surprised it doesn't come with an authentic Type-S-R-Weapon JDM car lighter that bumps up the hp in you Scion from 108 to 111.[/citation]

You obviously have NO clue what your talking about.
GT is not Need for Speed Underground.....
This is the legit game that lets apply REAL upgrades to a car, tune every aspect of it, and race on REAL world tracks with REAL physics.
By the way, that "Ricer" die cast car also happens to be one of the greatest achievements in automotive engineering.
Do some research before you let the diarrhea flow from your mouth.

Gran Turismo was the first ever game that I got when i had the original Playstation and I loved the series ever since. Despite the fact that it took so long to produce GT5, I'll still get it and the collectors edition to boot. $100 bucks isn't so bad for what you get in the package. 5 Months to go!

mtd324 you sir are the bad as of the day! I couldn't have put that better myself.

With all the delays and so many interesting games ive been way too put off to even pay half the regular price. Its a no purchase for me. Maybe next time Polyphony and Sony stop showing and charging for their stupid Prologue/demo editions a few years earlier.. I took it out with Forza and for pure fun/arcade style I only use Split Second with my buds when drunk or something and thats it.

No more racing sims for me and specially not my money for those loosers. And its a bad thing cause I didnt want to have a single PS3 exclusive that I wont own since I have the PS3 for exclusives only.. Anyhow. Still wont change my mind -.- I might get it when it drops to 15$.

[citation][nom]CChick[/nom]GT-R is Ricer car when it eats Porsche 911 for breakfast ? and thats not even GT-R, its the Spec V. Dont hate because your garbage American counter-part can't do the same thing at GT-R's price point.its time to get ur head out of your ass to the real world moron.[/citation]

Try not to be so ignorant. It's people like you that make Japanese culture look bad. I'm probably more Japanese than you are. My grandmother is from Japan. And besides that I just don't like things that are American. I would never get an American car I just have never liked them they aren't progressive. For your information I have a Mazda 3 hah. Sorry if it's faster than your Scion (I see I touched a few nerves by bringing up low horsepower cars).

Don't be ignorant. Just because someone isn't into ugly, almost 4000lb lowered SUVs (yes that's what the GT-R-Spec-V really is -- look at the platform (infinity FX, AWD, weight, and engine that dates back to 80s Pathfinder)) with big turbos slapped on them doesn't mean they're anti-import. It's just if I was going to pay $50 for a little model of a car I would rather have it be a model of a car that is actually considered a good car outside of Super Street magazine such as an RX-8 (which by the way gets more hp/L WITHOUT TURBOS).

[citation][nom]t2couger[/nom]CChick where are you from a hole in the ground all American V8 muscle C6Z06 cheaper and extremely competitive with GTR.[/citation]

muscle is great for drag races but when u get to a corner u better hope its got airbags

I've been waiting for enough excuses to buy a PS3.

One of them was Blu-Ray, but now I've got it on my PC, running fine on Windows 7, thank you. The whole BD-drive cost me $50, if that much.

The other was this game.

And yes, it lacks such a game for PC. It would be for driving games what Flight Simulator is for flying games (an Icon, not the ultimate game). It just is, it lets you drive a car, around the world. No closed circuits, unless they are famous.

But make it bigger. WAY BIGGER.
Take the whole Need for Speed Underground franchise and multiply it a few thousand times over. Make it MMO, make it on real streets. Make it 100TB worth digitizing 2 billion miles of highways and city grids around the planet, making the game impossible to pirate. Make it possible cruising Route 66, just for the sakes of it, for real, taking 420 hours to do it, without leaving my chair. Make it possible to cruise the real Paris-Dakkar rally circuit on a Ford Pinto, if you are feeling like it. Make it possible to take off from my neighborhood, and drive until I can reach your neighborhood. Make it monthly subscription, releasing interesting places and sights in episode packs, like Mulholland Drive for instance, (or so I heard).

So, it has Le Mans and Spa? It should, at least.

I feel a bit saddened, somehow.

[citation][nom]kyzar[/nom]As someone who appreciates that it has been delayed due to the sheer amount of work going into the game I'll happily buy the premium version. It's late for a reason![/citation]
I hope you are right. Maybe Polyphony Digital is creating the best GT ever and not just pushing out a ok product with limited content like some other developers do after they have established their franchise. Anyhow I look forward to this game, over the years I have put so many hours playing the GT games.

Why make this into an american vs japanese cars...??? Keeps the comments to the game.

I've played GT since the first Gran Turismo on PSone and i absolutely love the game.
I know there are more accurate simulators.
I know other games have more detailed custmomization
I know other games have better physics
I agree that they took forever to release it
I hate the fact that they sell their demo/prologue
BUT GT JUST MAKES YOU SMILE. It such an enjoyable (and endless) game that you just keep playing, FOREVER.

Game looks good, too bad it didn't come out 2 years ago. Seriously, this has to be far and away the best racing game ever made to be worth the wait. I bought an xbox because I didn't want to wait for this.

[citation][nom]irish_adam[/nom]muscle is great for drag races but when u get to a corner u better hope its got airbags[/citation]What are you talking about? The Corvette Z06 beat the Nissan GT-R on the track. They put them head to head. The Corvette is a nasty machine my friend... and so is the GT-R.

Damn was hoping for more SKUs for this game. Like a wheel bundle.

I'm 50/50 on this or normal but the in-game car voucher codes seem tempting. I hope some of them are LM editions of certain supercar class cars.

Can't wait for this game. Hurry up november. *awaits info a on a new GT5 Logitech wheel or G27 successor*

Incorrect. The Z06 has posted a time of 7:43, the GT-R has a time of 7:29 (or 7:26 though I'm not sure if that run was stock). The ZR1 (7:26) beat the GT-R. The GT-R Spec-V should equal or better the ZR1.

Not to mention that the GT-R is actually a daily driver with a great interior and technology. The only reason the prices are similar (z06 $74k, gt-r $84k, zr1 $106k) is because Nissan is selling them at a loss.

lol @ +13 on this post. A superhcarged Mustang GT will outrun a GT-R. There's a video of it on youtube. Plus costs less than half.

GT-R is a silly car, overpriced and out of reach to their Skyline fans. It is kind of cool but I mean who pays $80k+ for a Japanese car? you'd have to be completely stupid. I can buy a preowned Ferrari for that much money. Guess which of the two cars would be getting looks? Even Mustangs get a lot more looks than a GT-R. GT-R still looks as rice as anything coming out of Japan.

[citation][nom]shaun_shaun[/nom]why there isnt any Gran Turismo for PC ??? these console craps must go down !!!![/citation]

For PC? Console Crap? Please this game nor franchise would not make nearly as much revenue on the PC as it has on the playstation, playstation 2, and playstation 3.

Get your head out of your ass and realize that you're so called piracy plagued PC gaming isn't always "where it's at."

At least the Vette transmission will not blow up like the the GT-R's.

GT5 taking forever to come out is probably the reason I don't even own a PS3. Loved the previous GT's though.

You show your ignorance as well. The "1.3L" RX-8 motor has a maximum displacement of 3.9L relative to piston motor. The "1.3" is the displacement of a rotary motor. The RX-8 is a great handling car, but a poor comparison to a GT-R. The GT-R has always been a heavy car for it's time, it's no big surprise really.

I'm interested to see how realistic GT5 will be considering GT4 wasn't impressive in regards to physics. Everyone here that claims realism, I really wonder how much have actually driven and pushed their own cars on a track.

I certainly wouldn't be getting my tips on racing from a computer website.

[citation][nom]Metallifux[/nom]I think it is complete crap that some cars will only be available to those who buy them as DLC. The whole point of the game was to race and earn cars not buy them... bullshit![/citation]

It is a perk for buying the collector's edition. Don't like the 5 extra cars that's included with the collector's edition as well as it's other perks? 3 words "don't buy it"

Considering that GT5 has over 900+ cars in the game to unlock/purchase; 5 exclusive cars(probably variations of in-game cars with different decals and parts, parts tuning settings) seems like a nice reward for purchaser's of the collector's edition.
