Does it really take a quad-core processor to run GTA v? because I've seen my friend run the game on his surface pro 2 which has i5 dual core and Intel HD 4400, at playable frame rates (28-42)
My Computer is hell of a lot stronger then his surface but its a dual core. I've also seen you tubers with dual cores running the game, what the hell?

How is he running GTA v?

Does it really need a quad-core?

Lol, sorry, I guess that was a stupid question.

I guess I just wanted to know how he is playing it when it specifically says you need a quad core. (and Intel graphics)
Does it have something to do with hyperthreading?
Thanks for the reply :)

To run it well it takes a cpu capable of handling 4 threads your buddy's i5 may be dual core but it has hyperthreading. It will run on a 2 threaded cpu but not very well as it will lag in areas. I,ve seen rigs c with decent cards and ocd pentium g3258s that get bottlenecked. Even some quad cores with weak cores struggle.

It probably filled the whole device lol
But he did get playable framerates with everything on low 720p
I don't even know how that's possible with integrated graphics.
