I cannot seem to get a straight answer anywhere. If I purchase a 1080 HD Nanny cam, what size card would I need to get 24 hrs of recording? We are going to put it in our Grandmothers nursing home room and I need to be sure it doesn't STOP recording!! Here are the specs for the camera we are looking to buy...
Features Pixel: 2 mega pixels CMOS
Video format: AVI
Frame frequency: 25fps
Viewing angle: 90deg
Video Resolution: 1920*1080

Solution
It depends how it records/encodes the videos.
The video format, is just a container.
From what i've estimated though, on the low end video quality 128gbs, on the higher end 256gbs. But if it doesn't do a good job of compressing the video, it could get up to 500+gbs, so it depends which video camera you find. Also the cameras may not support those higher sized SD cards.
