Question have a 5.1 receiver connected with my pc now only get 60hz not 144hz

recently got a 5.1 receiver for speakers i had to use with my pc. monitors usually runs at 144hz now with it connected its only 60hz. i have separate cables for each device. a display port cables for monitor and hdmi for receiver.

Hi....Apparently with HDMI 2.1 it's feasible to take care of sound back through the link, which would empower me to attach the screen by means of show port so I can utilize g-sync, and associate the beneficiary from the screen's HDMI port to the collector's HDMI-in. From a certain perspective.
