Have a laptop with removed screen assembly, wondering how to find out if a different one i have will be compatible?

Average tech knowledge guy here. I have a laptop (Gateway NE56R34u) which is missing the entire screen assembly( the screen assembly and hinges were removed), I have a different non-working laptop (Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527) and wanted to know if the screen on this one could be installed on my gateway, i know it wont look great but just want a temporary laptop. Any way for me to find out if its compatible before i unscrew everything? Thanks!

Hi,

It will not fit since both laptops has different designs and hinges unfortunately. I would rather just connect the Gateway laptop onto an external monitor rather than trying to fit the Toshiba laptops screen on it. It would save you time and money if you'll also just get a replacement screen for the Gateway laptop.

Thanks for your answer, i don't mind the hinges not fitting, i was just wondering if there was a way to see if i can simply unplug the screen assembly from the toshiba and plug it into the gateway, before i unscrew everything, is there a way to check? Thanks!

they are not compatible as gateway is 40 pin & Toshiba is 30 pin besides ccfl compared to gateway being led.
