having audio problems

my audio was working fine last night. Turned off the laptop and when I restarted the laptop I got a cross with red background beside the speaker sign plus it says No Audio output device is installed !!! How come it worked before shutting it down last night and now it is not ?What can be the problem ?

Try shutting down, removing all power, and holding the power button in for a full minute. Power back up and see if that fixes the issue.
