Hello, When i turn my computer on for the first time in the day. It will go about 3-20 minutes or so and then immediately shut off. When i re-boot it there is no error messages or saying why it shut off and everything runs fine and runs perfectly normal. I am wondering ways to troubleshoot so it does not do this initial shut off by itself when i boot it up for first time. It has only shut itself off twice before one time. Every other time it has just been once and then everything works fine after that. Any ideas? Please help.

Laptop is an Asus Republic of Gamers running windows 10 64bit
Intel i7- 3610QM 2.30 Ghz
Nvidia geforce 670M-3gig
16 gb ram

Some of the batteries might have a circuit board with chip or something that syncs with laptop motherboard to relay exactly how much power is in the battery, sometimes goes out of sync and can cause random switching off. However not absolutely sure, also not sure how you re-sync. It may involve something like a cmos reset etc.

What do you suggest i do? Also it just did it 5 minutes ago, and was about 5-10 minutes from the first boot up of the day. And was just on web browser so i know it is not overheating. Help pleaseeee

Hi, before you start your laptop for the first time in the day, try this, remove the battery and unplug the adapter, hold the power button for one minute, after connects the battery and the adapter and starts the laptop. Does the problem is still occurring.

Okay, i have done that jarotech. It has been exactly 30 minutes since i have booted it back up and so far so good. i dont want to jinx it though. The real test will be the first boot up tomorrow after it has sat powered off for a little bit. We will see and ill let you know, keeping my fingers crossed that this was the solution too the fix.

I know on some acer laptops if the suggestion jarodtech gave didnt work, some tried the different reset possibly programmed into the motherboard by acer themselves was:

1. Remove battery and cable.
2. Press the power button 10 times in 1sec intervals.
3. Next press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.

Note the above steps may not be exact since im recalling from memory and struggling to find the link at this time. So dont attempt on yours.

The reason i mention this, is because one should know important info like this about their laptops.

Okay an update all. Jerotech, i did what you said. AND was working it seemed like very good. But just today i started it up for first time and happened again after 15 minutes. It did it when i was just sitting on a web browser page not doing anything. Also it did something different this time. Didnt give any error codes or anything but it shut off. then restarted itself. If this helps in solving the issue maybe? And zerocool i will search for links for my asus laptop because i did not know that and i dont know what the sequence would be for my laptop.
