HDMI 60 Hz vs 50 Hz?

Hello, I'm trying to figure out if there's a difference in the HDMI signal between 50Hz and 60Hz countries? Specifically, I'd like to get my 80-year old mother on Skype without having to use a PC or Mac, and was looking at an all-in-one skype device (such as the logitech tv cam HD) that has HDMI output. Would this work with a 1-year old LG HDTV sold for use in China? Thanks!

i believe the difference is due to the different power standards.

we (usa) run at 60hz while parts of the world run at 50hz. while i am not sure of all the technical details, this is why we have 60/120/240hz and why other countries have 50/100hz (not sure about 200hz).

some devices may be able to run on either 50hz or 60hz. you will need to check the specifications. ideally, get a device sold in, or made for that part of the world.
