HDMI splitter to DVI-D to projector fail

OK, I'm pretty well versed with hardware but this has me stumped. I'm trying to split HDMI from a Bluray player (OPPO BDP-83) to a monitor + a projector. The projector only has DVI-D dual link for digital video, so I'm using a HDMI ->DVI cable. I have two different HDMI splitter boxes and neither can deliver the signal to the projector (EPSON 9300i).

The monitor works fine with either output port on the splitter. The projector and HDMI/DVI cable work fine with a laptop and no splitter. All three cables are 25 feet long. The splitters both plug into the wall and supposedly function as signal boosters, and also bypass HDCP. I still need to try laptop -> splitter -> projector.

It just boggles me because all components work individually, but not together. Any thoughts?

If you are running 25' cable to a wall socket, how far is the projector from the socket? though it does sound like the problem lies with the splitter.

No wall sockets in the signal path, just cables and splitter. I could shorten the HDMI DVI cable to 15 ft and still reach the projector on the ceiling. I should rig up some much shorter cables I have laying around and see if the splitter will drive the projector that way.

The input on the projector won't accept the BD player because of HDCP. I suspect that your splitters are not bypassing it.

It's possible... but I used one of the splitters for a different non-HDCP monitor and it worked there. Maybe I should check the signal with that monitor, it also has a DVI-D input.

I eventually found the answer to this, it was my projector. It's an old Epson 9300i, and the DVI-D input only accepts 1280x1024 for whatever reason. It's too bad, because the lamps last forever on this thing. Oh well, time for an upgrade.
