I loose sound almost half way through watching a movie. When I unplug the HDMI cable, the sound from the laptop is also gone. Refreshing the screen doesn't work.
When I unplug the HDMI cable the laptop's sound of the movie is not broadcasting through the laptop's speakers either. But Windows sounds work on the laptop! Just the streaming content.
This happens in both Firefox and IE 9. I run Windows 7 professional 64bit on a Sony VAIO laptop. This used to work just fine.
I can uninstall and reinstall the sound drivers, but I seriously doubt that would resolve the problem.
It may be worth mentioning that my Flash player crashes every so often. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it and it crashes less, but still sometimes crashes. I have the latest version. My Windows updates are all installed.
I can't find anything except Bonjour errors in event manager. I've dug through the different catagories and have created custom alerts. Nothing yet.
I am very frustrated since half way though the movie I have to close my browser, reopen it and try to find the location where the sound crashed in the movie.
Any ideas? Is this a hardware issue? I know it's kind of hard to tell. Is there any tests I can run?
I am out of ideas.
Thanks
