Headphone plugged in but sound comes out of speakers

I have a new acer aspire e15 laptop. Headphones are plugged in but sound still comes out of the computer, not headphones. My headphones don't show up on Playback even though they are connected. This happens with any headphones I try to connect.

If the computer is brand new, and the headphone jack is not working correctly, then you really should contact the manufacturer about it to have them repair or replace it.
