Hello,

I am looking for a headset that includes:
-PC & PS4 platform
-Surround sound (5.1 or 7.1 doesn't matter) for both pc and ps4
-good bass (for explosions)

This seems an easy task, but i can't figure it out online. Alot of "surround sound" headsets require software, so they won't deliver surround sound on my ps4..

Any help?

I can recommend to you the following,

HyperX Cloud II : http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451338361&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperx+cloud+2

Logitech G Series (what I use): http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Surround-Gaming-Headset-Technology/dp/B00CQ35C1Q/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1451338391&sr=8-3&keywords=logitech+g+series

Astro A50: http://www.astrogaming.com/a50-gen2/A50-GEN2.html

The A50's are wireless, but they also have the wired A40's.

These are all amazing headsets and they all have included mics and work both on PC and PS4.

I currently have the cloud II, but it lacks base and volume for my taste. I like to tweak things on the headset itself or a mixamp. Do the logitechs give surround sound on console? They require software right?

I think i'll go with the astro a50's, but i'm open to other suggestions

I just bought the Logitech G430's today, they support 7.1 Surround Sound and have a downloadable software called the Logitech Gaming Software.

So far I am in love with it after doing the 5-10 minute set up.

They are also way cheaper which is nice but if you do have the money go for the A50's mostly for the name since they are going to sound fairly the same if you don't use optical.

Yeah but you are talking about the pc right? My friend has the G430's and on ps4 there is no surround sound.

I'm looking for one that delivers surround sound on both pc and console. You have any experience with astro?

The G430's are surround on my X1, so I don't see why they wouldn't be on the PS4.

I have used Astro's a bit, if you get them with the Mixamp they are really awesome!

Ah okay, i feel.like astro's are right for me. But then would you pick the wireless a50's or the a40's both with mixamp in terms of sound quality?

I haven't used the 50's, only the 40's but from what people have said, they sound the same.

I actually went with the v-moda m100. These are appearently audiophile headphones, which deliver amazing bass and stereo audio. I will however have to upgrade with a DSS or mixamp to get surround sound, but it's worth it
