Solved! Headset sound works but Microphone doesn't

Hi I just bought a HyperX Cloud Stinger headset but when I plug it into the back of my computer the headphone sound works but the microphone doesn't even show up in recording devices and when I switch the plugs to the front side of my computer the Microphone works but my headset doesn't even show up in playback devices, please help!

disconnect the front audio cable and see if the rear ports start working.

Do you mean disconnect from the motherboard?

yes, could be an issue in the cable itself
