Hello, i have a ibm thinkpad (t43) and i recently did a fresh install of windows xp prof. and now i cant figure out why the wireless isnt working and i cant set up a network or even a local area connection. the wizard keeps saying it cannot find my network hardware...what does that mean? i never took anything off of the laptop lol where can i find it?

get access into BIOS and find if your wireless is enable then it's ok if disable then turn it enable.2nd you have to install a driver for it called "ethernet controller" after all this then try and connect.

You probably will need to install the Ethernet drivers for your system. It's usually labeled as "LAN" drivers on the manufacturers website. You might have other drivers to install too, so check into your Control Panel>System>Hardware Tab>Device Manager to see if you have any further yellow "?'s".

Go to http/support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-58597 and download the Wireless LAN controller driver for Windows XP then install it and it should work afterwards. There are 3 different types of wireless cards for your model number. If you don't know which one to use, try the first one. If it doesn't work, uninstall it and try the next one.
