I am interested in these two notebooks. I would use these to play league of legends, surf the web, do school related work. I want to know is the price good for both of these, which is the better choice? Which would work better for league of legends, how well would they work for league of legends?

Sorry what is APU? Im a huge noob with computers...and do you know how well it would work on League of Legends? Lastly, is there a difference in the 9 cell battery in the pavilion vs the 6 cell in the envy. which would live longer?

APU = AMD's name for a CPU with integrated graphic core. Intel still calls 'em CPUs.

Regarding Win 8 and LOL... don't know. It depends if any patches has been released that makes the game better optimized for Win 8. I have seen some benchmark results in game between Win 7 and Win 8 sometime ago, and there was hardly any difference. At best maybe one would get 2 or 3 more frames per second than the other. The only exception that I have seen where the game does seem to perform better in Win 8 by more than 2 or 3 FPS depending on performance of the CPU is Battlefield 4. For example, with a Radeon HD 7970 at 1920x1080 and an Intel i7-4770k the difference between Win 7 and Win 8 was as much as 13 FPS. Lower and higher resolution showed also showed a decent performance difference. However, weaker CPUs show less performance gains; as low as 1 FPS. It is very likely though that BF4 has been optimized more for Win 8 than Win 7.

Intel Core 2 Duo
2.1 GHZ CPU
4 GB PC3 RAM
Discrete ATI Radeon 4330 GPU
Would this work better than my current laptop that has
AMD v120 Processor 2.2 GHZ
2GB Memory
ATI Mobility Radeon 4200 Series?
