Help me choose a laptop

so, it's back to school season and I need a new laptop, and I do have some computer knowladge and I do have a budget, so I narrowed it down to two laptops that will fit me perfectly, and I need your opinion on which one is better for me. I will start learning programming so keep that in mind. I know you will answer "go for what you think is better for you", but I still want some other opinions from other computer geeks like me.

Yoga
Pros:Slim,light,can be used as a tablet
Cons:Keyboard ,thermal throttles

Idea pad
Pros:laptop form factor for long period,better keyboard,dvd drive??(is that even useful for u)Cooler,might be more powerful
Cons:Heavier

Go with the Ideapad. Better CPU, more RAM (or at least the option for more), better screen, better wireless, better built in graphics if you don't get the discrete GPU model. Trade off is just the costs and weight really.
